Our new home… Nearly

Don’t get tide down in one place when there is so much to sea

The star hotel

We have officially arrived in Hai Phong, the place we will be spending the next four and a half months!

It is sooooo much more chilled than Hà Nội, and has a kind of pretty French vibe

On the subject if french-ness, let me tell you about bánh my, these are a vietnamese delecacy which I’m assuming has come from the French because it’s basically a French stick with awesome fillings, we have become slightly addicted to a bánh my trứng in the mornings which is fried egg, cucumber and hot sauce in a bread roll!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Would deffo recommend!

When we got to Hai Phong we discovered we would not be moving into our home straight away and instead would be staying in the ‘star hotel’ which was the most depressing building I have ever laid eyes on, think horror movie hotel then add a hangover and the stress of starting a new job

We’ve had better surprises!

We have no photos of the star Hotel because its better left unseen!

We barely got settled in the star Hotel and we were whisked down to dtlc to start our official training to be teachers (we needed all the help we could get)

They gave us this beautifully photoshopped badges, neither of us were in a white shirt when the photos were taken!

The first day in Hai Phong was super intense with all our contract signing and planning for our demo lessons the next day (yes it was sprung on us that we were to plan seven lessons for the following day so they could assess our teaching ability before training us the day after) logical, I know!
